Mar Awgin Kuriakose bornin 1974 May 21 at Marottichal, Thrissur. He is the second one of the four children of Pachamparambil Poulose and his wife Achamma. They are the parishners of Mar Mathai Sleeha Church , Marottichal. He had very keen interest in the church activities from his childhood onwards. He had completed his High School studies 1989 and joined in the Church seminary and studied there 6 years (1989 – 1995). During the seminary studies he earned bachelors Degree in Economics (B.A) from Calicut University . After completion of bachelor degree he joined at Mulamthuruthy Jacobite Syrian Seminary for his theological studies. In 1996 April 21 he became a Deacon.

In 1996 he joined in the Gurukul Lutharan Theological Seminary at Madras by the special direction of late Bishop Poulose Mar Poulose Episcopa. In 2000 he secured B.D. degree from the serampur University , Kolkotha , India . During that period (1996 – 2000) he was the assistant vicar of Mar Qardhakh Sahdha Church Chennai. In 2000 June 13 he was ordained as a Priest by H. G. Dr. Mar Aprem Metropolitan and worked as a vicar of Ernakulam St. Thomas Church.

In 2001 he became vicar of Bangalore Mar Timotheus Church and joined in the Dharmaram Vidhyakshethra, Bangalore , India . He secured Masters degree in Biblical Theology (M. Th) and joined in 2004 for the PhD Continued the study at  Auckland University, New Zealand.

In 2010 January 17th he received the Episcopal Consecration as the Bishop of the Holy Catholic Assyrian Church of the East in India by H.H Maran Mar Dinkha IV.

From september, 2021 he is appointed as the patriarchal Administrator of the Archdiocese of India and UAE by H.H.Maran Mar Awa III.

H. G Mar Awgin Kuriakose was ordained as Metropolitan of Chaldean Syrian Church of the East in India and Southern Gulf countries by Mar Awa III Catholicos Patriarch of Church of the East on January 8th 2023 in a historical moment at Marth Mariam Cathedral Church, Thrissur. As the successor to H.B Mar Aprem Metropolitan (Patriarchal Delegate to India).
