Marth Mariam Valiya Palli(Big Church), dedicated to St.Mary, The Mother of Christ, has a long and glorious tradition and history. This church situated in the heart of Thrissur town in the state of Kerala, South India. It is the oldest Church in Thrissur Town. This Church known as ‘Valiya palli’ (Big Church) is constructed on behest of 52 Syrian Christian Families brought by the King Shakthan Thamburan in the year AD 1814. The well decorated interior of this church features are of an ancient Syriac  cultural model is a major attraction. The Christian Community associated with the Church is believed to be the most ancient Christian community in South India.
